Designated in Rome during metro work, the old apartment building predates Christ

Italian archaeologists have recently acquired rare information on life in ancient Rome when they found a several floor building built decades before the birth of Jesus Christ.
The discovery was announced by Rome’s special surrintendance on August 4. The construction teams dug in the Piazza Venezia of Rome at the time as part of the Metro Line C metro project.
The officials say that the structures lasted several eras of Italian history, from the end of the period of the Republic in the first century BC

The site also contained houses in the Roman imperial era – the first in the fourth century AD – as well as the modern palaces which were destroyed in the 19th and 20th centuries.
The images show the old structures buried near the majestic of the Victor Emmanuel II monument in Piazza.

The real jewel of excavation was a complex on several floors which, according to experts, may have been used as Insula, or an apartment building.
The structure was probably used by ordinary Romans, The guardian reported.

Fox News Digital contacted managers for more information on the structure.
Those who close to the work have declared that the site is like a Palimpsest – a manuscript rewritten over time but still in traces of previous text.
“Piazza Venezia reveals a complex Palimsest that allows you to study the topography of central Rome,” said the post, which has been translated from Italian to English.

“The project, carried out under the scientific direction of the special superintendent of Rome, is progressing in full synergy with the metropolitan of the metro and the Roma, without delay compared to the scheduled calendar.”

Daniela Porro, the special superintendent of Rome, congratulated the excavation in a press release.
“The great fascination of this excavation lies in the sumptuous Palimpest of different eras which has resurfaced before our eyes and must be improved in the future station,” she said.

The last discovery is one of the many historical discoveries in the eternal city that have been revealed.
