President Donald Trump ended the week on Friday by signing an executive decree to change the name of the Ministry of Defense at the Ministry of War.

The decree gives the green light to use the name “Department of War” as a secondary title for the Ministry of Defense, as well as terms like “Secretary of War” for the Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, according to an information sheet from the White House.

The ordinance also calls HegSeth to propose legislative and executive actions to definitively cement the title of US Ministry of War.

In addition, a White House official told Fox News Digital that the implementation of the order would mean making changes to the websites intended for the public and office signaling to the Pentagon. For example, a change on the horizon is to rename the information room on public affairs, the “Pentagon’s war appel,” said the manager, noting that other longer -term projects will also emerge.

The United States previously used the title of the Ministry of War for its military agency until 1949, but modified it to the Ministry of Defense to align with several reforms included in the 1947 national security law.

Trump reported at the end of August that the change could occur.

“Everyone likes us to have an incredible story of victory when it was the Ministry of War,” Trump told journalists on August 25. “Then we changed it at the Ministry of Defense.”

Trump also announced that the American military strike against an alleged Venezuelan boat charged with drugs in the South of the Caribbean killed 11 alleged Tren of Aragua narco-terrorists on Tuesday.

Trump shared a video on social networks on Tuesday representing the strike against the Venezuelan ship, only a few days after authorizing the sending of three guided missile destroyers from the US Navy to improve administration’s orders in the region.

“You had massive amounts of drugs,” Trump told journalists on Wednesday about the recent strike. “We have cassettes that speak. It was huge amounts of drugs in our country to kill many people. And everyone understands this fact perfectly. You see it, you see the drug bags all over the boat and they were struck.”

“Obviously, they will not return it. And I think that many other people would not do it again. When they look at this band, they will say:” Let’s not do that. “We have to protect our country and we will do it.

After the deployment of destroyers, Maduro said Venezuela was ready to respond to any attack and said the presence of the ship in the region was “an extravagant, unjustifiable, immoral and absolutely criminal and bloody threat”.

“Faced with this maximum military pressure, we declared a maximum preparation for the defense of Venezuela,” said Maduro at a press conference on Monday.

Meanwhile, the Pentagon confirmed Thursday that two Venezuelan planes had buzzed an American navy ship in international waters.

“This very provocative decision was designed to interfere with our Narco-Terreur Comptoir operations,” wrote the Ministry of Defense in a press release published at X. “The cartel performing Venezuela is strongly advised not to continue efforts to obstruct, dissuade or intervene with counter-narcotic operations and the counter-land operations transported by the American army.”

Space Command HQ MOVE

Trump also unveiled plans on Tuesday to move the headquarters from Space Command from Colorado to Alabama – ending the controversy on the basis of the command.

Space Command operated from Peterson Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colorado, but Trump Long supported the command seat in Huntsville, Alabama. But in 2023, former President Joe Biden announced that the command would remain based in Colorado.
