Nearly 200 Democrats in the Chamber voted against a resolution condemning anti-Glaces riots in Los Angeles earlier this month.

The resolution was led by representative Young Kim, R-Calif., And the rest of the Republican delegation of the Golden State. 215 members of the House of Representatives, who included seven Democrats in the House, voted in favor of the resolution.

“Pacific protests are a constitutional right, but vandalism, looting, violence and other crimes are not. The protection of public security should not be controversial, which is why I direct the republican delegation of California in a resolution to support the law and the order while we continue to see fools,” said Kim during the introduction of the resolution.

“I hope that Governor Newsom can come together with President Trump to stop the riots, reduce the temperature and ensure the security of our communities,” she added.

“Let’s be clear: the riots intensified before sending the National Guard and were activated by California policies on crime – stamped for years by Governor Newsom, Sacramento and local prosecutors – who have enabled anarchy and public security in danger of workers’ Californians,” continued Kim.

It was introduced on June 17 and recognizes that peaceful demonstrations should be welcomed in the United States, but calls for the criminal elements that took place in the region earlier this month.

“These demonstrations quickly turned into violent riots in Los Angeles, where acts of criminal fire, widespread looting, destruction of goods and vandalism were engaged, blocking the streets and highways, lighting the fire streets, throwing rocks on the law enforcement vehicles and assaulting federal and premises of peace.”

Earlier this month, the Los Angeles District Prosecutor Nathan Hochman said that the demonstration was an excuse for bad players to commit crimes, such as business theft, committed material damage and aggression.

“This group wanted to commit crimes,” said Hochman at the time. “They considered the demonstration as a coverage, an opportunity to go ahead and ring their illegal profession and commit a variety of crimes which, in many ways, have done bad service to legitimate demonstrators.”

Some Democrats have criticized the resolution, because a legal battle guaranteed whether President Donald Trump was able to send the National Guard as civil disorders were continuing. Many Republicans have argued that it was necessary, while many Californian Democratic leaders such as Governor Gavin Newsom said that the deployment of troops was an instigator.

“This resolution ignores these facts to score political points,” said representative Nanette Díaz Barragán, D-Calif., On the floor of the Chamber in opposition to the resolution, claiming that the deployment of troops “only increased the tensions and additional disorders” while adding that the Democrats called for prosecution of those who acted violently.
