As the government shutdown enters its third week and military and federal workers are about to start missing their paychecks, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., and other Democrats continue to point the finger at President Donald Trump and Republicans.

In an email sent to supporters this week, Jeffries signed off with his usual slogan, “keep the faith.”

In the email, Jeffries said his party would not back down on its demands before reopening the government, saying “Democrats will continue to rise up to address the Republican health care crisis, and we will NOT back down until it is resolved. America deserves better.”

In the Senate, discussions have continued behind closed doors, but nothing has yet materialized into full-fledged negotiations on the expiration of Obamacare tax credits to find a way out of ending the shutdown.

If Jeffries’ rhetoric is any indication, Democrats are far from budging.

“Republicans thought we would back down because of their deepfake videos, threats and lies,” he wrote. “Not a chance. Reverse the cuts. Cut costs. Save health care. Keep the faith.”

Other House Democrats also actively raised funds after the shutdown.

Rep. Janelle Bynum, D-Ore., has been particularly active, sending several fundraising emails, including one in which her team told supporters: “The stakes couldn’t be higher. »

“That’s why Janelle will not back down in her fight to put Oregonians first and ensure our government works for the people,” Bynum’s team wrote. “If you’re with her, step up today to help her continue this crucial fight for hard-working Americans in the House.”

In another email to his supporters, Bynum complained that “Republicans just launched an ad attack blaming me for the government shutdown.”

“They are targeting me because of their failed leadership and the chaos they have created in Washington. We cannot allow their shameful attacks to go unanswered,” she wrote, adding, “Would you rush a donation now to help our team beat back national Republicans and defend the people of Oregon?”

Rep. Dave Min, Democrat of California, wrote in another fundraising email that “if we want to prevent these shutdowns from happening in the future, we must regain control of Congress next year.”

“That’s why I turn to you: If you are in a position to give, will you do everything you can to help me defend this struggling district next year?” he pleaded.

“The Democrats’ demands are simple,” he wrote in another email.

“Reversing GOP Medicaid cuts and expanding Obamacare tax credits to make health insurance more affordable. Neither should be controversial!” he wrote, providing a link to donate.

Rep. Marcy Kaptur, D-Ohio, cut to the chase and asked her supporters in an email to “contribute $10, $25 or whatever makes sense to stand with me against this reckless shutdown and help us take back the House next fall.”

Speaking to reporters Friday, Jeffries tripled down on his rejection of the Republican Party’s spending bill that would reopen the government, calling it “a partisan spending bill that continues to destroy health care for the American people and threatens to increase the cost of living for tens of millions of people.”

Fox News Digital reached out to the offices of Jeffries, Bynum, Min and Kaptur for comment but did not immediately receive a response.
