Democrats find it difficult to find a direction after Trump’s victory at the DNC meeting

Democrats have summoned themselves as a party for the first time this week since last fall electoral bleeding.
Democrats had to hand over their ship in 2026 and 2028.
But the question is whether the party will always be listed on the left.
At the summer meeting of the National Democratic Committee in Minneapolis, the member of the DNC, Bill Owen, focused on Dei.

“To my republican friends and my colleagues citizens, I say, who claim to be active Christians, I remind them that Dei is the very foundation of the Christian Church,” said Owen.
Some Democrats always have progressive ideas, such as the packaging of the Supreme Court.
“He asks us to appeal to the congress and the White House when the Democrats take them back, to review the size and structure of the Supreme Court,” said Laurence Zakson, member of the California DNC. “It is important to all of us that the courts are a check on the executive power.”
President Trump is not on the ballot in 2026, but mid-term elections are almost always a referendum on the president and his performance. This is why the Democrats always target their favorite sheet: Trump.

“We do not give this country to a dictator with swollen ankles who thinks he will be a king,” said Malcolm Kenyatta, member of the DNC of Pennsylvania.
A delegate of California argued that because of the ice raids, things were even better during the Covid-19 pandemic for the Latinos.
“We live in worse moments than the times of the pandemic. It is simply exhausting. Many families, whether documented or undocumented, have gone without working,” said Democrat Delegate Ada Briceño. “It’s just a huge struggle.”
Difficult subjects always expose party cracks.
Democrats remain divided during the Middle East crisis. The party rejected a resolution in the Middle East – avoiding the problem of providing weapons to Israel.
“The Democratic Party may have no influence on negotiations with Hamas,” said Allison Minnerly, a member of the DNC. “But what they have control is the weapons and the funding they provide for the Israeli government.”
The DNC finally approved a resolution written by the president of the DNC, Ken Martin, demanding a cease-fire and support for support.

“This crisis in Gaza is urgent. And my resolution focuses on the humanitarian crisis and clearly indicates that it must be considered the urgency it is,” said Martin. “Now, I know there are some who are interested in making changes today. But as we have seen, there is a gap in our party on this issue.”
The DNC turned on the resolution. And then, after adoption, Martin withdrew it.
“No one should confuse the unit unanimously,” said Martin. “We can disagree in this party and always be unified. And consequently, I will ask us to withdraw this resolution.”
So much for more clarity.

That said, the Democrats are trying to return to the old nucleus of the Democratic Party: organized work. Trump has increased many blue collars and union workers in his coalition in 2024. Now the Democrats are trying to recover this crucial block.
“Workers must understand that a way to get up and react is to organize and organize politically by the Democratic Party, because the most important form of resistance is to vote and vote Democrat,” said DNC member StuartBaum.
Democrats are looking for good signs. The first is that they have outperformed expectations in more than 40 special elections locally across the country since Trump took office. This includes the reversal of a solid red district in a Senate competition in the Iowa state in late August.
“We know the work before us,” said Martin. “Reconstructing confidence with so many people in this country at the moment who have lost confidence in the Democratic Party.”
But while the president deploys federal troops in the streets of Washington, DC, and has his eyes on Chicago, Los Angeles, Baltimore and Boston, a veteran democrat thinks that the party remains without any idea of the crime.

“The Democrats should have answered strongly and said:” Yes, let’s work together. I will meet you in the White House. We will see how we could reduce these murders, “said the longtime democratic sounder Mark Penn on Fox.
The DNC concluded its summer meeting in Minneapolis when there was a deadly shooting in a nearby Catholic primary school.
“All we do is make sure that things like this no longer happen again. Especially in these little, small children,” said Martin.
In an article on social networks, the governor of California Gavin Newsom, who, analysts, believes he has his eye on the presidential democratic appointment of 2028, said that the country could not even spend the first week of school without shooting.

“The GOP will do absolutely nothing” on armed violence, said Newsom, adding that the republican response was “sick”.
Democrats have 14 months to understand all of this before the middle. Democrats were shining to lead a mini-convention next year to boost voters before the middle. Success in 2026 would invigorate the party before the presidential election.
“Because we live in unprecedented times and, as everyone has said, we have to fight fire with fire,” said Reyna Walters-Morgan, member of the DNC de Caroline du Nord, citing what has happened in recent weeks during the redistribution of Congress in Texas. “We have to thank Democrats in Texas.”
An immediate bulletin will come for Democrats in less than a month. The democratic basis will monitor how the chief of the Hakeem Jeffries, DN.Y., and the head of the Senate chief, Chuck Schumer, DN.Y., are fighting with Trump for a potential government closure on October 1. Democrats must demonstrate a certain fight. Democratic votes are necessary to avoid closing. But some Democrats believe that the assembly of a fierce defense could trigger a closure – and that would actually help Trump and the GOP.

What it underlines is that Democrats have incredibly difficult hands to play at the moment – both on Capitol Hill and across the country.

But what Democrats must decide first is if they hold liberal principles or incline towards the right to attract moderate voters and republicans who have exploited for its coalition.
Running against Trump did not work in 2024. Democrats must therefore trace their own electoral path, even if it exasperates the forces that worked the party on the left.
