The Democratic representative of the abolition of Israel, Ritchie Torres, revealed on Tuesday that he had no more relationship with part of his family because of his support for Israel.

“I lost friends, you all lost friends there,” he told a room full of Jewish students at the top of Israel on the campus coalition on Tuesday. “I no longer speak with some members of my family.”

The in -depth support of Torres in Israel has disagreed him with the progressives of his party – but the Democrat of New York recently began to express his frustration towards the government of Jerusalem.

“No offense, but there are times when I have the impression that the Israeli government has the worst public relations operation that I have ever seen,” he told a full room of students in the top of Israel on the campus coalition, some of which have applauded the remark.

“If I have a normal constituent that comes to me, is not anti-Israeli, is not anti-Semitic, but expresses this concern concerning hunger in Gaza, I cannot tell him that there is no problem,” he said. “I can’t deny it. I can’t minimize this.”

The Gaza Ministry of Health managed by Hamas reports that 60,000 Palestinians died following the offensive campaign of Israel in Gaza to eradicate Hamas, and 154 died of the lack of food. President Donald Trump acknowledged this week that there was a “real famine” in Gaza due to food shortages.

Torres said that even if he does not hold Israel responsible for this famine, “I have the impression that we should do everything we can to relieve human suffering in Gaza.”

He said that Israel was bound to a “double standard” because “no other country has been and should deliver food to his opponents”.

Aid entered Gaza through the Gaza-Partnered Israel humanitarian fund, which since the start of operations on May 27, the group said more than 97 million meals.

This “definitively contradicts the story that there is a deliberate famine policy,” said Torres.

However, Israeli forces keep distribution sites, and the United Nations – which opposes GHF – claim that more than 1,000 Palestinians died by asking for help through the group. The GHF, in turn, argues that the distribution of UN aid has been completely ineffective: UN data show that only 8% of the United Nations aid has reached its destination without being pillaged in the last 10 weeks, according to a Reuters report.

Israel said that there was no widespread famine in Gaza, saying that the photos are misleading or isolated cases, but began to take a break in large strips for 10 hours a day to allow an increase in help on the ground and in the air.

A cease-fire and hostage contract has so far escaped the management of Israel and Hamas. The Witkoff Steve Witkoff’s envoy is on the way to Israel for negotiations on Wednesday, Axios reported.
