Democrat Graham Platner exporting Mamdani’s socialism to Maine: the head of the Gop of State

The latest addition to the Democrats’ swimming pool seeking to challenge Senator Susan Collins, R-Maine, doubles Zohran Mamdani style socialism, says the leader of the Maine Republican Party.

Democrat Graham Platner has launched his campaign highlighting his history as a veteran of the army and Marine as well as as an oyster farmer, but the head of the GOP, Jason Savage, told Fox News Digital that rural distinctions are not political positions. He underlined the hiring by Platner of a high adviser to Mamdani, Morris Katz, to produce his campaign launch video.

In this video, Platner affects “the oligarchy” and approves Universal Healthcare. His website presents a messaging which claims that the United States has a “billionaire economy” and that – if elected – Platner would consider him as a key element of his work “to dismantle him.

“Graham Platner is Maine’s Mamdani,” Savage told Fox News Digital in an interview. “He called on the Mamdani team to support his campaign. He does a lot of work with socialist groups.… He is a brother Bernie.”

“What we see here is the export of Mamdani ideology to the state of Maine because they think they can gain ground in a small state where things are not as expensive,” he added.

“You can browse the history of Graham Platner donors, and you can donate to Harris for the president, Bernie Sanders, Ilhan Omar,” he continued, arguing that the far left candidates constitute a major threat to the Democratic Party.

Platner’s campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comments from Fox News Digital.

“If the democrats of the orders, then the leaders like (the senator) Chuck Schumer do not do something and say that it is not the future of our party, then they will run in a pile of these races. And we are going to beat them,” he said.

Savage argued that the adoption by the Democratic Party of the extreme left is a “double -edged sword”. He said that the Democratic candidates could not succeed without the “extreme wing” of the party, and now “they have created a monster that they do not have the capacity to control”.

“In the long term, it will be catastrophic for them. I mean, Graham Platner recommends allowing men to be in the sports of girls and women,” said Savage. “He advocates all kinds of policies that are very, very unpopular, and Democrats can say nothing to stop this.”

Republicans are currently controlling the majority of the senate by a margin of 53-47. Democrats are expected to return four seats in the mid-term elections of 2026 to take the majority.

A spokesperson for Collins told Fox News Digital that Platner was “only another progressive in the race”.
