A new analysis of the reflection groups reveals that public corruption is an important problem in the United States and is the most widespread in the governments of states and premises that have larger bureaucracies and higher regulations.

The Oriental District of Louisiana, which includes New Orleans, ranks at number four on the list of Cato with 430 total convictions during this period and an annual conviction of 1.29.
“New Orleans has long been sadly famous for the corruption of states and local,” said the report.

Cato analysis revealed that New Hampshire had the lowest public corruption by this metric, with 13 convictions over the period and an annual conviction of 0.05. Cato called him “the most free state of the nation with one of the smallest governments”.

The reflection group noted, however, that certain university studies have suggested other reasons for the differences in corruption between states and cities, including variable cultures, levels of education and poverty rates.
