David Hogg’s CAP spends millions for consultants, little for candidates

Despite the commitments to spending $ 20 million to support younger and more progressive candidates, a CAP led by Democrat David Hogg spent millions of dollars on political consultants, advertisements and even fitness lessons.

The CAP, the leaders we deserve, spent only $ 455,000 to support three candidates in difficult democratic primary races during the first eight months of 2025, Axios reported.

This figure contrasts with around $ 2.5 million spent on consultants, $ 1.1 million in digital advertisements, $ 965,000 for the construction of donor lists and nearly $ 5,000 on the Fitness Classpass subscription service, according to federal campaign depots.

“We offer a well-being service to our employees, like many employers across the country,” Kevin Lata, co-founder and executive director of the leaders we deserve, told Axios. “Our projections show that each $ 1 that we put in these investments will cost $ 3 to $ 5 by the end of the cycle. This helps to make sure that each donation goes further than it would do.”
