House -gop legislator enters the race to become Governor of South Carolina on Friday, confirmed her campaign at Fox News Digital.
Representative Ralph Norman, RS.C., a member of the Conservative House Freedom Caucus, is expected to launch his campaign with an event in Rock Hill, South Carolina on Friday.
Friday morning, his non -Congressal X account had been modified to say: “Ralph Norman for the governor”.
He is a tax hawk on the right -wing side of the house, where he joined other colleagues sharing the same ideas in upheaval of the leaders legislative program Sometimes, in the name of the pursuit of victories in more conservative politics.

Norman previously directed Warren Norman Company, a commercial real estate development company launched by his father.
Before being elected to the Congress by special election in 2017, Norman was used at South Carolina State House from 2009 to 2017.

Longtime Ally of the former Governor of South Carolina Nikki Haley, Norman was the only republican in the Chamber to officially support him before Haley withdraws from the race, after which Norman categorically supported President Donald Trump.
He told Fox News Digital of his approval in January 2024: “When I supported Nikki Haley, I had respect for Donald Trump to call him, and I told him what I was going to do, and I decided that I was going to do it.”
Norman has been a vocal supporter of Trump since Haley’s release. He was recently at the White House this week with other Republicans of the House for a reception celebrating their legislative successes.

Earlier this year, he was part of a group of conservatives from the House Freedom Caucus forcing the last minute changes to the “big and beautiful bill” of the president who, according to them, is more in line with what Trump really wanted.
The current governor of South Carolina Henry McMaster, also a close ally of Trump, is limited at the end of 2026.
The president’s approval will likely play a decisive role in the GOP primary of the Palmetto state.
