Oklahoma state fans have let their dissatisfaction be heard while the team lost against Tulsa at home for the first time in 74 years.

Friday, Tulsa beat Oklahoma State 19-12 at Boone Pickens Stadium, which prompted Cowboys fans to call head coach Mike Gundy to be dismissed throughout the match.

Tulsa took an advance from 16-3 at halftime and the fans chanted “Fire Gundy” before the end of the first half. The songs continued with four minutes to play in the fourth quarter with Tulsa leading 19-12, and the noisy crowd was heard during the ESPN broadcast.

The loss for Oklahoma State dropped the cowboys to 1-2. Oklahoma State beat UT Martin 27-7 in its first game, but was demolished by Oregon n ° 6 last week, 69-3.

The 58-year-old head coach praised the “brilliant” fans after the match despite calls for work.

“They were great tonight, they really were,” said Gundy via the New York Post. “The stadium was full, and they were fired. And they were great.”

Gundy was asked what his message would be for fans who want him to be dismissed immediately.

“These are not decisions that I make,” said Gundy. “My decision is to do exactly what I mentioned earlier and get these guys and continue to move forward and go on the road, and that’s what you do.”

Oklahoma State will try to reverse the tide when he played the Baylor Bears, who are 2-1, next week at home.
