Schmidt, 29, has become a key starter for Yankees this season when he started a 3.32 MPM in 14 games this season. He recently set the franchise record with 28 1/3 consecutive sleeves aimlessly.

If Schmidt has indeed needed Tommy John surgery, it will be the second time that the right -handers will have had surgery in his career. Schmidt underwent Tommy John surgery in May 2017, just a month before the Yankees chose it in the first round of the MLB South Carolina MLB.

“Whenever you get an MRI on your forearm, or whatever the body part, you don’t feel happy,” said Schmidt before learning the results of the tests.

Schmidt was initially placed on the IL with a forearm pain, which, according to him, began when it was released on June 4 against the Cleveland Guardians.

Schmidt launched only three rounds in the defeat of the team against the Blue Jays of Toronto on Thursday. He granted three points deserved on four strokes in three rounds before leaving the match due to an injury.

With the loss of Schmidt in the predictable future, the starting of Yankees is in disarray.

Max Fried and Carlos Rodon are a great punch, but after them, the rotation is full of question points.

Ryan Yarbrough is on the injured list with an oblique injury, and he did not start to throw. Luis Gil, in title, Luis Gil, launched strikers for the first time on June 21 while he was reproducing a LAT injury.

Marcus Stroman has made two departures since he left the IL with a knee injury, but he cannot be invoked because he has an MPM of 7.45 in five departures this season. The recruit Will Will Warren showed lightning of brilliance but sometimes had trouble because he started a 5.02 MPM in 18 games.

Yankees call Cam Schlittler to replace Schmidt in rotation, according to a report New York Post.

Schlittler has an MPM of 3.52 in 15 games (14 departures) in double A and Triple-A this season.

The Yankees fell from the first place for the first time since April and drag the Blue Jays de Toronto by two games.

The Yankees (48-40) will seek to bounce back and break their losses when they face New York (51-38) in the second match in their three game series on Saturday at 4:10 p.m..
