Civil servant dodicilians for the Trump border security mission within 48 hours

Civilians from the Ministry of Defense volunteers by hundreds of temporary details with the Ministry of Internal Security (DHS), joining forces to strengthen operations on the southern border in difficulty under the priority of President Donald Trump to ensure it.

In less than 48 hours, nearly 500 volunteers responded to the call of the president’s duty, while the assignments have become available via USAJOBS.com. Recruitment agencies include customs and border protection (CBP), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and immigration and customs application (ICE).

“This is a national security problem, and our civilians have the essential skills to support the DHS in their mission,” said Michael A. Cogar, assistant secretary to the assistant defense. “We are proud that our civilians are already ready to register.”

The assignments last up to 180 days, offering skills ranging from intelligence to support detention.

A DHS spokesperson told Fox News Digital that the initiative reflects “Trump’s entirely governmental approach to suppress national security threats, including gang and terrorists.

“Ice, the CBP, the Ministry of Internal Security and the Ministry of Defense adopt the approach of President Trump’s terror to protect the American people,” DOD spokesperson for Fox News Digital.

“DOD civilians – which have already undergone a rigorous verification and have shown their commitment to serve this nation – are invited to volunteer for temporary ice to help America again security and suppress national security threats – including gang members and terrorists in our country.”

Civilian employees were informed by e-mail earlier this week and can apply via USAJOBS, after which the DHS will coordinate with their respective agencies for ultimate approval. If they are approved, candidates can be deployed within 96 hours.

All employees of the Civil Dod in good standing with at least 90 days in their current agency can apply. The assignments last up to six months and the roles are currently taking place until September 30, 2026.

Volunteers will provide logistical and technical support, including data entry, planning, processing of cases, linguistics and human resources. DOD civilian employees maintain their salary and their benefits when they assign with overtime eligibility, while acquire a cross -experience and professional development.

“This mission is really critical, not only for the DHS, not only for the DOD, but for the whole country,” said Cogar in a Dod memo released on Friday.

“Any individual, any person, can have a force of force for these DHS agents, which allows them to focus on what he does best, while we can provide this technical support that he needs to be on the target, mission and every day focused on the security of our nation.”

The program follows the Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth June directive This also opened DHS investments for retired soldiers via the Skillbridge program. The DOD Skillbridge program allows members of the retirement service to obtain “real training and work experience in the work areas in demand”.
