Cingling Docs details the main failures of the secret service on the attempted assassination of Trump

The documents assigned by the Senate Committee for Internal Security and Government Affairs show major failures among the six US secret service agents (USSS) who were suspended without salary in response to an attempted assassination on the candidate of the time, Donald Trump, in a campaign rally in Butler, in Pennsylvania on July 13, 2024.

While the USSS had previously declared to Fox News that the agents were disciplined in February, the documents show that five of the agents were not disciplined before April, which is Senator Rand Paul, R-Ky., Assisted the files.

Advanced lead agent

The advanced agent was 21 years old with the USSS, with six of these years spent in the vice-presidential protection division.

Despite the April documents showing that the agent was suspended without salary for 21 days, the agent ended up obtaining a suspension of 14 days. According to the secret services, the agent was the oldest and most experienced agent of the Advance team, but she failed to secure the Rallye site.

Documents show that the main agent was aware of the concerns of the aiming line, but it did not solve the problem or produced a plan to secure the building.

After the assassination attempt, the agent spoke with a journalist and shared information on the behind the scenes of the rally, the documents show.

The counterpart of the Senior Special Agent site had 20 years of experience, including experience dealing with presidential details. According to documents, the counterpart was disciplined in April for 14 days without salary, although she argued that she should not be punished. Instead, the agent blamed the site agent.

During the interviews, the counterpart told the USSS that the site agent with which she worked did not know the “basic things”, adding that it was not her work to “train” the site agent.

The secret services also said that the local police had sent an email to the senior counterpart its plans to secure the region, but that it had never opened or read the plans.

Special agent in charge of the Pittsburgh field office

The special agent responsible for the Pittsburgh field office had 24 years of experience with the USSS, and only a few days after the rally of the commissioning of teleworking status. The assistant had 24 years of experience with the USSS and admitted that he had not prepared for the Butler rally. The documents show that without preparation, the assistant had little or no understanding of the security plan for Butler.

As a result, the assistant was suspended for 10 days without salary in April.
