Republican members of the Ohio Congress Delegation claim that democratic policies have created societal conditions that have led to violent blows in downtown Cincinnati which have become viral online.

“Name a big city in America where you felt safe to let your children walk alone. You cannot, and that should alarm each of us,” representing representative Michael Rulli, R-Ohio, Fox News Digital on Tuesday.

“For too long, we have accepted fear and chaos as usual while left -wing politicians push the sanctuary cities, cut off from the police and leave violent criminals and mental patients wander the streets. It is not compassion. It is a failure.”

Meanwhile, Senator Bernie Moreno, R-Ohio, called for the resignation of the mayor of Cincinnati, AFTAB Pureval, on the incident.

“It is an odious attack. The mayor of Cincinnati is a shame,” said Moreno.

When asked what could be done to stop such incidents, he said: “The mayor resigns. Ask a member of the Congress who really cares about his district and finance the Cincinnati police.”

Fox News Digital contacted the mayor’s office to comment, as well as the office of representative Greg Landsman, D-Ohio, whose congress district includes Cincinnati.

This occurs after a video was on social networks during the weekend that seemed to show a crowd of people violently attacking a man and a woman who tried to help him.

Pureval published a statement condemning the “vicious fight” and committing to the arrests to be “to come”.

Fox 19 cincinnati reported on Monday that five people had been charged.

But Rulli and Moreno are two of the last Republican officials of Ohio to comment on the blows that took place on Saturday.

Vice-president JD Vance, who served in the Senate before being elected to the White House with President Donald Trump, said Moreno had shown him a video of violence.

“It is disgusting. I hope that each of these people who have engaged in violence are continued to the extent of the law,” said Vance during an event in Canton, Ohio.

“When you have an adult man who pushes an average woman, this person should go to prison for a very long time. And frankly, he is lucky that there are no better people because they would manage it themselves … We have had too much anarchy in the streets of major American cities.”

The details of what started the fight and that have initiated the assault are not yet clear.
