Certain aldermen from Chicago underline the need for a stronger presence of application of the law and a federal partnership, because the city deals with crime.
President Donald Trump has suggested that there could be a federal increase in the city, which could include troops from the National Guard and Immigration Authorities, as Democratic leaders such as Mayor Brandon Johnson and Governor JB Pritzker Rail against the possibility. However, others have had a more nuanced catch, because they want more support, but not to the extent of sending the guard.
“100% need help, 100% want help. I just don’t want to see 18-year-old children, 19 in the streets of Chicago with M-16s, I think it’s a recipe for a disaster, so my preference would be money to hire more police,” the Nicholas Sposato defeat on Wednesday. Esposato is only one of the two self -employeds of the municipal council, because 48 out of 50 are democrats.

“But the president and the governor must speak and understand something,” he added.
The other independent of the board of directors, the alderman Anthony Napolitano, told “The Bottom Line” of Fox Business Network, there is a “gang problem” in the city.
“It is hypocrisy because our politicians here always put politics and the agenda on the people of the city of Chicago,” said Napolitano, a former local police officer.

The failure of Chicago, Raymond Lopez, a democrat, has also raised concerns concerning crime in the city while speaking Sunday at the “Fox Report” of Fox News Channel.
“I think that a federal wave would, in fact, be useful. Even if we see our trendy statistics in the right direction, which would argue against making them even further, even lower, which means fewer victims in the street,” he said.
“It is absolutely asinine to hear my democratic colleagues say that we do not want more help,” he added, noting that the city has generally welcomed the help of federal agencies like the FBI and the ATF.
Meanwhile, Washington, DC, experienced a sharp decrease in various crimes since federal control last month. Although many Democrats have criticized the decision to pass the troops in the streets, the presence of additional police won the praise of Mayor Muriel Bowser, a democrat who originally criticized politics.

“For car cars, the difference between this period, this 20 -day period of this federal wave and last year represents a reduction of 87% of carjacks in Washington, DC,” said Bowser at a press conference last week. “We know that when carjacking decreases, when the use of the weapon drops, when homicide or theft fall, the neighborhoods feel more safe and are safer. So this wave was important for us for this reason.”
As for Johnson, he recently signed an executive decree strongly limiting the capacity of the application of local laws to cooperate with the federal authorities in the midst of a possible push.

“We will protect our constitution, we will protect our city and protect our people,” said Johnson during a recent press conference. “We don’t want to see tanks in our streets. We don’t want to see torn families. We don’t want grandmothers to be thrown at the back of unmarked vans. We don’t want to see the harassed homeless chicagoans or disappeared by federal agents.”
