EXCLUSIVE: House Energy and Commerce Committee is expected to revive the National Coal Council and “Invigorate the beautiful industry of America’s own coal”, as President Donald Trump said.
The chairman of the committee, Brett Guthrie, R-Ky., Told Fox News Digital that the national legislation of the coal council would successfully vanish his committee on Wednesday and would have a good chance of passing the full house.
Representatives Michael Rulli, R-Ohio and Riley Moore, RW.V., direct the legislation to restore the Council, actually canceled by former President Joe Biden and support the clean coal industry for a multitude of reasons, including energy security at a time of uncertainty of the Middle East.

The bill also acts on Trump’s executive decree 14241 by focusing on clean coal and will help respond to the increase in electricity demand necessary for the expected exponential growth of AI data centers across the country.

Rulli said that the Council of origin was a “pillar” of American energy policy and a “voice for an industry whose workers have built this nation and fueled our economy. Its elimination was not an accident”.
“The left wants to close everything for good,” he said.
“This bill will not allow this to happen … We must restore the National Coal Council and defend the energy dorsal spine of this country – before it is too late.”
Rulli said that in Virginia-Western and Kentucky, where his colleagues are from Ohio coal industry, Ohio has led its manufacturing sector for decades, offering thousands of well-paid jobs in its Youngstown district.
