American agents of the border patrol had a strong presence outside an anti-Trump rally by the Democratic Governor of California Gavin Newsom in Los Angeles on Thursday. The agents proceeded at least one arrest.

Newsom, which would have presidential aspirations and has become one of President Donald Trump’s most frank criticism, organized the event, which he described as a “liberation day”, to announce plans to respond to the GOP rediscovering push in Texas.

In a social media position shortly before the rally, Newsom predicted that “Donald Trump and (Governor of Texas) Greg Abbott will have a very bad day today”.

Video taken by local affiliate Fox 11 And obtained by Fox News showed what seemed to exceed a dozen armed and masked agents of border patrol just outside the rally. The agents could be seen to lead a man to handcuff while the spectators were angry.

Addressing Fox 11, the head of the border patrol Gregory Bovino explained: “We make Los Angeles a safer place here.”

“As we will not have politicians who will do this, we do it ourselves. This is why we are here today. As you can see, already making a safer place,” said Bovino.

The head of the border patrol added: “We are happy to be here, is not going.”

When he was asked what his message was to Newsom, Bovino replied: “Again, we make Los Angeles a safer place, we will continue to do it, and they can take that one to the bank and collect it.”

In response to the presence of federal agents, the Newsom office sent an email to Fox News Digital A declaration in fully capital letters, “we will not be intimidated by the weak little Donald Trump, the criminal president!”

During the event, the Newsom press team posted on X that “Trump’s private army is illegally on private property !!!!”

During his remarks, Newsom recognized the federal agents, saying: “Just outside at this exact moment, are dozens and dozens of ice agents.”

“Do you think it’s a coincidence?” He pointed out. “Donald Trump and his Minions, Tom Homan, hard to cook. Decided, by coincidence or not, that it was a place to advance the arrests of ice. Andiscriminate? Maybe. We will know it later.”
