Jurors Tuesday made a guilt verdict to Ryan Routh for all accusations after trying to assassinate the candidate of the then Donald Trump In its West Palm Beach Golf Club last September.

After reading the verdict, Roudth would have seemed to try to stab in the neck with a pen before four American marshals hold it back.

Her daughter, Sara Roth, would have risen and said:

“Don’t do anything. I’m going to get you out. What is the F —, F —, he didn’t hurt anyone. It’s not just. All this is rigged-you are holes.” The jury was still in the room at the time.

Roth, 59, was charged with five federal criminal charges, in particular by trying to assassinate a large presidential candidate, by attacking a federal officer and in several infractions of firearms.

The accusations bear a maximum sentence of life for life.

The jurors deliberated for several hours before returning to court with a verdict.

The update comes after a trial of almost three weeks. Prosecutors used most of their closing arguments on Tuesday to underline both the digital and medico-legal evidence presented at the trial and what they described as Roth’s clear intention: To kill Trump.

They noted the trips of 1 7 “recognition” he would have made on Trump’s golf course, and what they described as his excessive hunt for Trump, before the incident of September 15, 2024 in question.

This part was essential to the accusation of condemning Routh in the first and the most serious criminal leader: attempted assassination of a great presidential candidate.

In order to obtain a conviction for this accusation, the prosecutors had to prove to the jurors two things: first, that the defendant intended to carry out the crime, and secondly, that the defendant had taken “substantial measures” to do so.

During the closing arguments, federal prosecutors stressed that it should not be difficult for jurors to conclude that they had met this bar.

“It was not an advertisement,” American deputy prosecutor Christopher Browne told the jury. “The evidence showed one thing and only one thing – the defendant wanted Donald Trump to be dead.”

There is “undoubtedly, no reasonable doubt, without a doubt that it was this man,” said Browne, stopping to point to Roth “, who was hiding” in the sniper’s nest for what they said was about 10 am, from 4 am

Prosecutors spent almost two full weeks meticulously presenting their case. They have traveled hundreds of evidence, including call newspapers, text messages, forensic evidence and surveillance images they used to carefully follow Routh’s actions.

They also used bank files to link Routh to buy a 7.62×39 semi-automatic SKS caliber rifle which was recovered near Trump golf course.

Expert witnesses of the accusation said that the weapon was in working order. Medical experts said that the fingerprint on the scope corresponded to Routh. They also linked Routh’s DNA to the rifle matches itself, as well as gloves, bags and other articles.

Browne reminded the jurors on Tuesday that there were 19 laps found in the magazine of the SKS rifle which was recovered on the scene, including one in the room.

“It was not an advertising,” said Browne to the jury. “The evidence has shown one thing and only one thing – the defendant wanted Donald Trump to be dead,” said Browne.

A box delivered for months earlier to Samuel and Lazaro Plata – Brothers of North Carolina – contained pipes, bullets, threads and a 12 -page manifesto entitled “Dear World”.
