Greenville, SC – The American prosecutor General Pam Bondi, temporarily leading Washington, DC police at the request of President Donald Trump, announced Thursday that she had sent letters giving jurisdictions to the sanctuary at the national level one week to comply with the federal laws of immigration or to the action of the Ministry of Justice, contrasting South Carolina with Democratic States like New York and California.
Bondi was in Greenville, in Southern Carolina, Thursday for a round table with the attorney general of the State Alan Wilson, several members of the Congress and local law enforcement.
In an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital for a few moments before the announcement, Bondi replied if the temporary federalization of local police services could be carried out beyond DC, as in New York or elsewhere.
“Oh, let’s wait and see what’s going to happen,” Fox News Digital Danielle Wallace Bondi Bondi. “But I have just sent letters from the sanctuary city to 32 mayors across the country and several governors saying:” You better respect our federal policies and with our federal police, because if you are not, we will come after you. “And they, I think, a week to answer me, so let’s see who reacts and how they react.”
Bondi announced on social networks that the DoJ had sent “letters of demand” to sanctuary cities, counties and states as “a key step in our strategic effort to eradicate California sanctuary policies in New York”. Threatening prosecution, she said that “any sanctuary jurisdiction which continues to put illegal extraterrestrials before American citizens may have come to the table or see us in court”.

After the main victory of Democratic Socialist Zohran Mamdani in June, the New York Police Service has seen a sharp increase in retirement deposits. Bondi, who criticized the outgoing mayor Eric Adams on the status of the city’s sanctuary in the past, told Fox News Digital on Thursday that he was crucial for the security of officers for them to have strong leadership. Adams has cooperated with the border tsar Tom Homan on the federal immigration application.
“It starts at the top and our leaders must support our police,” Bondi Bondi in Fox News Digital told Fox. “They risk their lives every day to protect us. There is no ordinary day in the life of a police officer or their families, because they leave the house every day, and they do not know what to expect. And our government, our leaders, must support them and this must happen in New York. We have recovered our local and local officers.
Wilson, on the other hand, noted that the nursing student of Georgia Laken Riley was arrested in New York and was released as part of the sanctuary policies.
“Obviously, here in South Carolina, we have excellent relations, but it is also important that we support them in other states,” Wilson told Fox News Digital. “Obviously, we all remember Laken Riley, a young woman in Georgia who was murdered. This individual had been arrested and released in New York State, then came to Georgia and committed this crime. He therefore allocates us all when other states do not increase and are able to apply the laws, that could have effects on the application of the law in other states.
Bondi underlined a letter which she sent to the governor of California Gavin Newsom in which she warned that “individuals operating under the color of the law, using their official position to hinder federal immigration efforts and facilitate or induce illegal immigration can be subject to criminal accusations”.
The letter, which was shared on social networks, said that cooperation between the application agencies of the federal, state and local law, including the application of immigration, “is vital to enforce federal law and protect national security”.

“Under the leadership of President Trump, full cooperation by governments of states and premises in the efforts to apply immigration is an absolute priority,” said Bondi, affirming that Trump had ordered him to “identify the jurisdictions of the sanctuary and inform them of their illegal sanctuary status and potential violations of the federal law”.

Thursday in Greenville, Bondi underlined the South Carolina as a model of the application of federal, state and local laws “working hand in hand”. By thanking Wilson for pleading for increased partnerships with the FBI, the Drug Encompement Administration (DEA), the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and American marshals, Bondi told Fox News Digital, a member of the Sinaloa cartel was recently exploded after “massive quantities” had been secured in Myrtle Beach.
Wilson has credited such cooperation to the law recently able to make the greatest fentanyl crisis in the history of South Carolina. Last month, the DEA agents, the lexington county sheriff deputies and the Southern Carolina Transport Police made two coordinated traffic stops in two Southern Carolina counties, which led to a seizure of 156 pounds of Fentanyl. Two California brothers were arrested and charged as part of the case.
The Ministry of Justice said that the fentanyl seizure had the potential to kill 36 million people and a retail value of $ 1.7 million.
In his letter to Newsom, Bondi said that Trump also ordered federal agencies to assess their power to issue subsidies, contracts and federal funds “to determine where immigration terms and conditions can be added to combat sanctuary policies.” Noting that the congress “codified the duty of states and local governments to cooperate in the efforts to apply immigration”, the letter said that Bondi ordered the investigations to identify “such potential illegal conduct”.

The Newsom office did not immediately respond to a request for comments from Fox News Digital.
Bondi’s letter comes approximately a week after the MJ has identified nearly three dozen cities, states and counties across the country which, according to them, were sanctuaries for illegal immigrants.
Bondi declared in a statement at the time that cities and states, which are mainly leaning in blue, have immigration policies which “hinder the police and put American citizens in danger by conception”.
“The Ministry of Justice will continue to bring disputes against the courts of the sanctuary and work closely with the Ministry of Internal Security to eradicate these harmful policies across the country,” said Bondi.

Four of the States on the Doj – California, New York, Colorado and Illinois list – have already faced proceedings on their immigration policies. The others on the list include Delaware, Nevada, Minnesota and DC
The trial in Illinois is the most distant from the court process and has not played in favor of the DoJ at this stage. A federal judge rejected the allegations of the Ministry of Justice, affirming that the policies of the state and local Illinois were protected by the Constitution and that the DOJ’s trial has empowered the sovereignty of Illinois. The DoJ could always appeal the decision or modify its complaint.
