A pair of democratic and republican representatives seemed to approve the plan of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for Israel to resume Gaza on Sunday.

Representatives Rick Crawford, R-Ark., And Josh Gottheimer, Dn.J., appeared on “Fox News Sunday” with the host Shannon Bream after having made a joint visit to Israel. The Netanyahu office faced criticism after the national security firm voted on Friday to allow the FDI to fully resume Gaza.

Crawford argued that such a plan would be safer for the remaining hostages at the Guard of Hamas.

“I think they have a greater risk of dying in the current conditions they would do if the FDIs take the action they are talking about,” Crawford said on the hostages. “Basically, Hamas displays them. People talk about famine in Gaza. Famine takes place in the hands of Hamas, and is mainly directed against the hostages they hold.”

Meanwhile, Gottheimer declared that a takeover of Israel is the “correct answer”, as long as the involvement of the FDI is really temporary. He argued that Hamas must be completely crushed, but another governor structure must be put in place.

“The Prime Minister said very clearly … that there is no intention for an occupation or a long-term annexation, which, I think, is the right answer,” he said. “You must make sure that you crush Hamas, you get humanitarian aid, then you get a new governance structure.”

Gottheimer added that he expects negotiations to lead to a “multinational Arab force” which maintains the long -term peace of Gaza.

Netanyahu and his security cabinet gathered overnight before announcing on Friday that Israel planned to regain control of the whole territory of Gaza and put it back to Arab friendly forces opposite to Hamas.

“The security firm has approved the Prime Minister’s proposal to defeat Hamas. The FDI prepare to take control of Gaza City while distributing humanitarian assistance to the civilian population outside of combat zones,” Netanyahu announced on X.

The office said that the security firm had adopted, by vote, five principles to conclude the war, in particular: the disarmament of Hamas, the return of all the hostages – living and deceased, the demilitarization of the Gaza Strip, the control of Israeli security in the Gaza Strip, and the creation of an alternative of civil administration which is neither Hamas nor the authority of the Palestinians.

The prospect of a complete military occupation of Gaza intervenes 20 years after the complete disengagement of Israel from the enclave when the government has forced approximately 8,600 Jewish residents from the region. Shortly after, Hamas won the Palestinian legislative elections and organized a violent coup to overthrow the Palestinian authority and take control of the Gaza Strip.
