The US Air Force claims that the B-52 bomber which had a quasi-failure with a Delta Airlines flight over the North Dakota on Friday piloted an approved flight trajectory at the time.

The Air Force published the declaration on Monday, saying that the Federal Aviation Administration was still investigating the incident. Bombardier B-52 was in the air to fly over at the state of the northern Dakota state, which had been pre-approved and planned in advance by the FAA.

The Air Force claims that B-52 drivers were in contact with Minot International Airport and Minot Approach Control (RAPCON).

“Around 7:10 p.m., before the overflight, the B-52 crew contacted the Minot (Rapcon) approach to prepare for the overflight.

“Minot Approach directed the B-52 crew at 7:43 p.m. to contact the air traffic at Minot International Airport. The B-52 crew contacted the Tower of Minot International Airport and the Tower provided instructions to continue at 2 miles in the west direction after the overflight did not advise the entering commercial aircraft,” continued the press release.

The pilot of a Skywest Airlines flight operated by Delta airlines made an “aggressive maneuver” to avoid a collision with the B-52. The pilot then explained the scary incident to audio passengers who became viral on social networks.

The flight was carrying minneapolis passengers in Minot, and the flight surrounded Minot International Airport Several times before landing after the incident.

The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed that it was investigating the incident.

“Skywest Flight 3788, operating as Delta Connection of Minneapolis, Minnesota in Minot, in the North Dakota, on July 18, landed safely in Minot after being authorized to approach by the tower, but made an appeal to another plane in Fox.

“We are investigating the incident,” added the spokesperson.

A video published on social networks seems to include the pilot’s audio explaining what happened to passengers.

“Given his speed … I don’t know how much they went, but they were much faster than us. I felt that it was the safest thing to do to turn behind,” said the pilot in the video that had now become viral.

“Sorry for the aggressive maneuver. It surprised me,” he continued. “It is not at all normal. I don’t know why they did not give us a tête-à-tête, because the base of the Air Force has a radar … A long story, it was not fun, but I apologize, and thank you for understanding. Not a fun day at work.”
