The Australian government says that it expels two Iranian diplomats after going to go that the Islamic Republic was behind at least two anti -Semitic attacks in Sydney and Melbourne.

Addressing journalists, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said that the main national spy agency in the country, Asio, had “gathered enough credible information to achieve a deeply disturbing conclusion”.

“The Iranian government has carried out at least two of these attacks,” said Albanese, referring to the recent attacks on a restaurant in Sydney and a synagogue in Melbourne. “Iran has sought to hide its involvement, but Asio assesses that it was behind the attacks.”

The Australian government informed Iranian ambassador to Australia shortly before Albanese’s announcement that they would be expelled. He also withdrew the Australian diplomats published in Iran in a third country.

The anti -Semitic incidents in Melbourne and Sydney increased in a forced manner after the massacre of October 7, 2023 in Israel which sparked the current offensive in Israel in Gaza.

The Prime Minister also said that Australia was planning to designate the body of the Iranian Islamic Revolution as a terrorist organization.
