Archaeologists discover the old 1,700 year old Roman bathing bath in Türkiye

Archaeologists recently found an old Roman bathing bath in Türkiye – a relic as luxurious as they are old.

The discovery was covered by Turkey Anadoli Agency (AA). A landowner in the region planted acid cherry plants in 2023 when he came across a soil mosaic from the Roman era.

Thanks to the underground imaging radar, archaeologists found the bathing bath about 230 feet south of the mosaic.

The 1700 -year -old structure, which measures 75 square meters, dates back to the end of the Roman era.

It had a heating system under the floor and cold, hot and distinct hot areas – The former equivalent of a modern spa, noted AA.

The bath also included sweat rooms, swimming pools and separate canals for clean water and wastewater.

Turkish officials plan to open the tourism site in the future.

Ahmet Demordağ, provincial director of culture and tourism, told AA that the Bathhouse and the Mosaic were only a few of the many “important remains” in the region.

“Bath is really a distinctive and important structure.”

“Looking at the whole, we believe that this area was an urban colony,” observed Demidağ.

“We will continue our excavations.”

Çayır added: “The cold, hot and hot sections survived their full and planned engineering intact. In this regard, we can say that the bath is really a distinctive and important structure.”
