The progressive chief of “Squad”, the representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Dn.y., spoke of her breakfast with the socialist democratic candidate at the town hall Zohran Mamdani on Wednesday, as well as the ice activities in his district.

Ocasio-Cortez, a progressive who is now considered a leading voice in the Democratic Party as well as a possible presidential candidate in 2028, met Mamdani on Wednesday morning in a “breakfast of communication and communication skills”.

The deputy told Fox News Digital that she thought that meeting with Mamdani and other Democrats was “really positive”.

“It is just important for people to meet people in person, kicking the tires and talking to each other,” she said.

This occurs as many Democratic leaders, notably the head of the minority of the Hakeem Jeffries Chamber, DN.Y., and Senator Chuck Schumer, DN.Y., have not yet approved Mamdani, despite his victory for the Democratic appointment at the town hall. Several best Democrats have criticized Mamdani for refusing to condemn the use of the expression “globalizing the intifada”, which is considered by many as calling for violence against the Jewish people.

Mamdani recently declared that he would not use the sentence and that “would discourage” others from using it too, but did not fully condemn the slogan.

With Senator Bernie Sanders, I-VT., Ocasio-Cortez was one of the first national leaders to approve the Mamdani campaign before his surprise against the former governor of New York Andrew Cuomo.

Before the Wednesday meeting, Ocasio-Cortez told journalists that she was impatient that people meet him “face to face” and “hear what he had to say about the appointment in New York for workers”, while defending problems like Le Rent, the Gèles, the affordable daycare and the prices of the grocery store.

In response to the Democrats who are still on the fence of Mamdani or who criticized his policies, Ocasio-Cortez told Fox News Digital: “I always think that the best approach to these things is to hear it directly from the person himself instead of, you know, whatever the static media or whatever it may be.”

“If someone has reservations, you know, I think it is important to meet them and hear it directly from the source and take a determination from there,” she added.

With regard to recent activities for applying ice immigration targeting illegal gang members in its district, Ocasio-Cortez said: “If you are engaged in violence, if you injure women, children, of course, you are subject to the repression of federal law and expulsion.”

However, she continued to assert that “the problem is that many ice activities do not waste resources that do not hurt and have endeavored with violence, but they have made raids and people who have been doing hard and honest work for years, paying taxes, being productive members of society”.

“We should not waste our resources by continuing our neighbors,” she continued. “Everyone must be held responsible for the law. If you hurt someone, you hurt someone, that’s how it is. And if you are undocumented, and you hurt someone, you know, it puts you on the trace of the expulsion.”
