EXCLUSIVE: The offices of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac of New York State will permanently close in direct response to the “corrupt and dangerous business practices” of the attorney general of Letitia James in the state, Fox News Digital learned Thursday.

“We are closing the two New York offices for Fannie and Freddie following the corrupt and dangerous business practices of Letitia James in the state”, a source close to the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), which oversees companies sponsored by the government, in Fox News Digital.

A public announcement on closures is scheduled for later Thursday, Fox News Digital learned.

“We are still using New York residents, and we will continue to make mortgage loans in New York, of course,” continued the source. “But we will eliminate our physical presence. And insofar as we have leases, we will support them.”

FHFA is an independent federal agency that oversees Fannie MAE, Freddie Mac and the federal banking system on real estate loans.

James is a long-standing political enemy of that of President Donald Trump, in particular by campaigning for the Attorney General in 2018 by promising to prosecute legal accusations against Trump if she was elected, adding that she would exhibit the “crook” after her victory that year.

Her office exceeded nearly 100 legal challenges against the first Trump administration and added after her second presidential victory in 2024 that she would continue to challenge him before the courts “defending the rights of New York and the rule of law”.

The planned output of Fannie and Freddie in New York comes after the Ministry of Justice opened an investigation into James’ personal mortgages in May, when the head of the federal housing financing agency, Bill Pulte, sent a criminal referral to the department in April to affirm that James falsified the mortgage archives to obtain more favorable loans.

A Norfolk, in Virginia, Home James bought in 2023 is at the heart of the survey. James identified the house on mortgage documents and a Fannie MAE / Freddie Mac form as a property that would serve as a main residence, according to the criminal reference, Pulte sent the Ministry of Justice in April.

James is legally required to live in New York as elected state -of -the -state in the State Empire.

The criminal benchmark also cited previous problems with the properties of James, including a purchase in 2001 of a Brooklyn property, New York. The occupation certificate lists property as a residence of five units, while James mortgages list the property as four units, which could affect mortgage agreements.

James denied reprehensible acts, including his office saying to New York Times In April, a separate loan request for Norfolk, in Virginia in 2023, would have indicated that it would not live full time on property and that its mortgage agreement did not force it to occupy the property as its main residence.

James’ lawyer Abbe Lowell sent a letter to the American prosecutor Pam Bondi in April by arguing that the criminal reference was “Three pages of periodsThreadbarical allegations without any reason to proceed other than those which are “based on media relationships” and are the next salvo of the revenge tour of President Trump against the Attorney General James. “”

Fox News Digital contacted James’ office to comment on the closings scheduled for Thursday afternoon but did not immediately receive an answer.
