Angel Reese put on the Sky bench for controversial remarks

The Chicago Sky decided on Friday how to penalize its most prominent player.

Angel Reeese will be on the bench for the first half of the sky match with Las Vegas Aces on Sunday, the team announced.

The decision was made after the star striker published remarks deemed “detrimental to the team”.

The punishment is distinct from the suspension of a match that Reese served on Friday evening when the sky faced the fever of the Indiana. Reese was evaluated in his eighth technical fault of the year during the Wednesday match against Connecticut Sun.

According to the rules of the WNBA, an eighth technical fault automatically triggers a suspension of a match.

Chicago underwent a 20-point defeat on Friday with Reese sidelines, going to 10-31 this season.

Double All-Star expressed its frustrations with the franchise, saying to Chicago tribune That she “might have to move in a different direction and do what is best for me” if the team does not improve their prospects earlier in the week.

She resumed these comments after Wednesday’s victory over Connecticut and had already apologized to the team.

“Chicago Sky appreciates the safety, respect and well-being of each player. We are committed to responsibility so that our players can stay focused on the basketball game,” the team said in a statement. “This question has been dealt with and resolved internally, and we are moving on as a team.”

Reese, the seventh choice in total to the draft of the WNBA 2024, between Saturday on average 14.7 points and a record of 12.6 League records. She appeared in 30 games this season.
