The FBI will host a second deputy director for the first time in its history on Monday, with the prosecutor general of Missouri, Andrew Bailey, resigning from his post to join the office.

Bailey will serve as a co-deputy director alongside Dan Bongino, the pair reported to the director of the FBI, Kash Patel. The unprecedented configuration comes as President Donald Trump emphasizes federal police in the middle of his broader repression of the crime. There was also controversy within the FBI concerning the treatment of the Jeffrey Epstein survey, sources saying that Bongino has been deeply frustrated.

“While I approach the last hours as a general prosecutor, I am deeply grateful to Missouri, because it is the honor of my life to serve you,” Bailey wrote in a press release on social networks. “Together, we have accomplished a lot for the place we call here. Until the Missouri calls again, thank you.”

The FBI did not immediately respond to a request for comments from Fox News Digital.

As an act of the Missouri, Bailey made the headlines of the national newspapers for the efforts of former president Joe Biden to destroy the debt of the students. He also worked to limit diversity, equity and inclusion programs in several large companies, notably at Starbucks, which he accused of “recruitment of race” earlier this year. Bailey also spoke in favor of the executive decree of President Donald Trump seeking to end the citizenship of the right of birth.

Bailey also launched a working group on anti-human trafficking and addressed more than 1,100 incidents reported in the Missouri, in addition to cleaning the backlog of medico-legal evidence of sexual assault (SAF) to improve the prosecution of cases of sexual assault.

Senator Josh Hawley, R-MO., Hunted Bailey’s recruitment in a declaration to Fox News Digital on Monday, praising the prosecutor’s former work in his country of origin.

“Andrew Bailey will be great at the FBI,” said Hawley. “He was an off -competition prosecutor for Missouri. Now he will bring all these skills to wear for the country.”

The American prosecutor General Pam Bondi confirmed Bailey’s hiring last month while Trump launched the Federal takeover of Washington, DC and his repression of national crime.

“I am delighted to welcome Andrew Bailey as a co-deputy director From the FBI, “Bondi told Fox News Digital.” He was an eminent attorney general of the state and is a veteran of the decorated war, providing expertise and dedication to the service. His leadership and commitment to the country will be a great asset while we are working together to advance the mission of President Trump. “”

The entrance to Bailey comes after weeks of rumors in the FBI concerning Epstein files. Bongino would have lifted his voice in indignation during a private discussion with the chief of staff of the White House Susie Wiles and Bondi before assaulting the meeting, according to two sources close to the management of the Doj. The test had led him to consider resigning the FBI, said another source.

Bongino was frustrated by the deployment of an Epstein public memo in July and what he considered to be the “lack of transparency of Bondi from the start”. The memo, a joint product of the DoJ and the FBI, said that the two agencies had no other information to share with the public on the case of Epstein, a revelation which triggered the fury among the Maga base.

It has been almost two months since the rumors of the potential resignation of Bongino, however, started, and it still remains at the FBI.
