An anti-Israeli demonstrator discussed by security at the finish line of the Tour de France

A demonstrator opposing the involvement of Israel in the Tour de France quickly apprehended after trying to disturb the prestigious cycling race.
The man jumped a barricade near the finish line and ran to the runners, apparently shouting objections to the participation of Israel and by carrying unidentified objects.
The security personnel acted quickly with a goalkeeper intercepting the demonstrator just 25 meters from the finish line, placing him and then returning him forcefully to the barrier in the crowd.
The dramatic moment took place during stage 11 of the three -week competition while the main cyclists approached the end of the 97.5 miles road around Toulouse in the south of France.

Video sequences of the incident quickly spread online, showing the man wearing a shirt that said “Israel out of the tour” and holding a Kffiyeh, a scarf generally associated with support for the Palestinian cause.
“These pro-Palestinians are really the worst people. Imagine waste your life by doing this,” said a person on the video.

“The Tour de France Security did not play – an anti -Israeli demonstrator ran on the track, but was tackled, hanging on the ear and cleared in a rapid movement,” said another person.
The demonstration occurred after the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement (BDS) labeled the “team genocide” of the Israeli team of first technology and called for non -violent demonstrations during major cycling events where the team is in competition, including the Giro d’Italia, Vuelta A España and Tour de France.
