Patrick Beverley It won’t be showing up on Barstool platforms any time soon — Dave Portnoy It was just revealed that the former NBA player is “taking forced time away” after being arrested for felony assault.
The Barstool Sports founder explained his employee’s situation during “The Name Show” on Wednesday … saying that Beverley — who has a “Hoopin’ N Hollerin'” podcast with the company — “has to figure all this out.”
“We’ll let the facts come out,” Portnoy said. “Certainly, with what’s hanging there, we can’t make it part of what we’re doing now, and we’ll have to see how it settles, but this is terrible.”
“If there’s any truth to this, he won’t be coming back to Barstool.”
Portnoy said the two spoke on the phone after Hopper’s 15-year-old sister’s side of the story became public… and Beverly understood where he was coming from.
Portnoy said there was no reason for him to make a hasty decision about Beverly’s future… but added that what he saw in the documents was “brutal.”

His sister claims that after she was caught returning from sneaking out in the middle of the night, Beverly apparently scolded her before “grabbing her by the neck with both hands, and lifting her off the ground, by lifting her feet off the ground.”
She also claimed that he slammed her body against the walls of an open room in the house, commenting: “A family relative will kill her.”
After they noticed marks on the sister’s neck and noticed freckles in the whites of her eyes, Beverly was arrested and booked for felony assault.
He later posted a $40,000 bond…and is scheduled for a court hearing next month.
The 37-year-old’s legal team disputed the allegations in the report, saying his sister’s account of the alleged incident was inaccurate.
He added: “I expect that when all the facts emerge, Patrick will be acquitted of these charges.” Letitia Quiñones-Hollins He said.
