The prosecutor General Pam Bondi spoke of the efforts of the Ministry of Justice (DoJ) to protect the rights of religious freedom during a hearing of the House on Monday and told legislators that it was concentrated on a range of religions, from Judaism to Islam.

“It is not only Catholics, it is all religions and even mosques that have been slow under the Biden administration and not authorized to open,” said Bondi. “We will protect all the religions of this country.”

The remarks of the Attorney General came in response to the questions of the representative Riley Moore, RW. VA., Who asked what budgetary resources Bondi needed to “eradicate anti-Christian prejudices” in the department.

Bondi also referred to recent recent incidents that seemed to be rooted in anti -SemitismIncluding the murder of two people who worked at the Israeli embassy in Washington, the couple was killed in May outside Capitol Jewish Museum by a man who shouted “Free Palestine!” As was arrested.

Bondi’s wink to mosques was an apparent reference to a handful of states with blue sensations closing all religious buildings as part of their COVVI-19 protocols in 2020 during the Trump administration.

The Attorney General said that she was talking about “almost daily” with the Civil Rights Division of the Doj, which manages discrimination cases, and she congratulated the head of the Harmeet Dhillon division, who upset the division and moved his objective, in part, to religious freedom.

“They work to protect people from all religions,” said Bondi.

Moore also addressed a controversial internal note which is from The FBI Richmond Field Office under the former FBI director, Christopher Wray. The memo, which the congress made public in 2023 after having received it from a denunciator of the FBI, offered an assessment of the threats of “traditionalist radical Catholics”.

The internal document presented what the FBI perceived as a model of extremism among a small group of Catholics, identifying them as those who opposed modern popes, held “extremist ideological beliefs” and “were delivered in a violent rhetoric”.

The document highlighted three real examples of criminal suspects that identified with this Catholicism sect to illustrate its point, and it used the Southern Poverty Law Center, a non -profit organization on the left, to strengthen its evaluation. In response to the buttress, the FBI retracted the memo. Wray later said that he had exhorted the employees involved in doing so, but also said that he had not revealed “bad behavior” among them.

Bondi declared during the hearing on Monday as in virtue of his mandate, the Doj would not use the Southern Poverty Law Center as a resource.
