Adams leaves the mayor of NYC as Mamdani, Sliwa is competing for the November victory

With the mayor of New York Eric Adams Sudden re -election campaign Zohran Mamdani blurred to capitalize.

Adams announced his decision in a video of almost nine minutes published on X. He did not offer any clue on his plans after leaving his duties and did not approve any of the remaining town hall candidates.

MamdaniA democratic socialist, throws the moment as a turning point, promising that on November 4, “New Yorkers will turn the page on the policy of large funds and small ideas”.

“Donald Trump and its billionaire donors could be able to determine the actions of Eric Adams and Andrew Cuomo, but they will not dictate the results of this election,” Mamdani wrote in a statement.

“New York deserves better than negotiating a disgraced and corrupt politician for another. On November 4, we will turn the page on the policy of large funds and small ideas and deliver a government of which each New York can be proud,” he added.

Meanwhile, the campaign of the Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa considered him as the strongest challenger in Mamdani.

“Curtis Sliwa is the only candidate to defeat Mamdani. Our team, our resources and our funding are unrivaled,” the campaign spokesman Daniel Kurzyna wrote in a statement.

“More importantly, we have the best solutions to help workers afford to stay in New York and feel safe,” added Kurzyna.

Former governor Andrew Cuomo said he thought that Adams’ decision was “sincere to put New York’s well-being before personal ambition”.

“The mayor Adams has a lot to be proud in his achievements. Whatever we could have, the story of Eric Adams is undeniably resilience, a testimony of the spirit of this city,” added Cuomo.

The leader of the minority of the room, Hakeem Jeffries, Dn.y., thanked Adams for his service, but retained the approval of a successor, saying that he will share his opinions before the start of early votes.

“During his mandate, violent crimes are decreasing, the construction of affordable housing is up and New York has recovered from the Cavid-19 pandemic,” Jeffries wrote in a statement.

“In the coming days, my goal will be to contact the republican health care crisis and the financing of the government,” said Jeffries, adding that he will “weigh publicly” on the remaining town hall candidates before the start of early vote.

New York governor Kathy Hochul said she was proud to work alongside Adams to “make New York safer, stronger and more affordable,” she wrote in an article on X.

“He leaves in New York better than he inherited him and he will always be at the heart of his inheritance as mayor,” she added.
