Actblue struck with a summons to the house after stopping cooperation with GOP investigators

First on Fox: On Tuesday, three committees in the Chamber come together to assign the giant Democrat in the collection of Actblue funds, accusing the platform of having accepted “fraudulent or illegal” donations for candidates on the left.

“In the light of allegations according to which the online fundraising platforms which serve as conduits for political donations have accepted fraudulent donations of national and foreign sources, the committees lead to monitoring potential legislative reforms”, the letter of the Chamber’s investigators to Actblue Read.

“To continue our surveillance and legislative reform efforts, on April 2, 2025, the committees requested documents and communications related to the internal fault and the reprisals of the denunciators to Actblue. Although Actblue has initially provided documents voluntarily, it has since suspended its cooperation with the committees.

The assignment is headed by the president of the administration of the Bryan Steil Chamber, R-Wis., The president of the supervisory committee of the James Comer Chamber, R-Ky., And the president of the Jim Jordan Chamber Jordan, R-Ohio.

Their letter said that Actblue initially seemed to work with the chamber committees in April and May before having “suddenly changed CAP” in June.

“Actblue did not provide a legitimate legal basis to refuse future cooperation with the committees and rather made foundation and false allegations concerning the reasons for the committees,” said legislators.

Committees have been investigating act on Actblue jointly since the first concern about their donation practices in 2023.

At the time, Steil accused Actblue of not correctly taking into account the security of the private people by not requiring a VCV number for donations of credit card. This has since changed, however, and Actblue currently requires this information.

His probe and other Republicans have since expanded to wonder if Actblue has accepted the donations of foreign actors.

At the end of last month, the committees assigned to appear current employees and former Actblue to present themselves to transcribed interviews. They also already assigned Actblue himself in October 2024.

Their new assignment to Actblue and the letter to CEO Regina Wallace-Jones are however another escalation of the probe.

In a statement to Fox News at the end of 2024, an Actblue spokesperson accused Steil of perpetuating “inaccuracies and false declarations on our platform”.

“We rigorously protect the safety of donors and maintain strict anti-fraud compliance practices. We have no tolerance for fraud on our platform,” said the spokesman at the time.

The last letter of assignment accused Actblue of lying on the “poorly coordinated” committees with the Ministry of Justice (DOJ) on the issue and to give a low explanation of its lack of cooperation.

“ACTBLUE alleges that the committees pursue supervision to an inappropriate objective of the investigation of the Ministry of Justice. This affirmation is inaccurate,” the legislators said.

“As we have explained, the committees have a legislative interest in protecting the integrity of the federal elections and in maintaining fundamental civil liberties by ensuring that online fundraising platforms are not vulnerable to bad actors, including foreign actors.”

The assignment gives Actblue a period of August 12 to hand over the documents that the legislators are looking for.

Fox News Digital contacted Actblue to comment but did not immediately hear.
