ACLU continues to stop ice raids targeting immigrants “brown skin” in the Los Angeles region

“The raids of this district follow a common and systematic scheme. Individuals with brown skin are approached or distant by unidentified federal agents, suddenly and with a demonstration of strength and facts to answer questions on whom they are and where they are,” said the trial.

“If they hesitate, try to leave or do not answer the questions to the satisfaction of the agents, they are detained, sometimes addressed, handcuffed and / or placed in police custody. In these interactions, agents generally have no prior information on the individual and no mandate of any kind.”

The trial accuses the federal government of keeping prisoners in a overcrowded detention center, called “B-18”, inside windowless parts which are extremely cramped.

“This bridge was entry to Boyle Heights to kidnap the members of the community and take them who knows where,” said organizer Christian Alcaraz.

The demonstration was one of the many county gatherings on Tuesday as part of a day of action against immigration raids. In Koreatown, another rally took place.

Deputy Secretary of Internal Security, Tricia McLaughlin, refuted the complaints made in the trial.

“Any assertion that individuals were” targeted “by the police because of their skin color are disgusting and categorically false,” she said Fox 11 Via a statement on Wednesday, adding that the allegations of the trial were “garbage”.
