“What our government is ready to do to the Palestinians, they are ready to do you all,” she said. “It is not surprising for me, as a girl from Detroit, that I see our government, who has provided bombs and apologies to Israel to literally destroy hospitals, communities in Gaza and mass production manufacturing, is also the same government that finances health and food aid programs here in our country.”
“Gaza is the compass in this country,” said Tlaib.
Tlaib was previously under criticism of Bipartite after sharing a video on social networks which included the expression “from the river to the Sea”, a pro-Palestinian liberation slogan.

The popular conference for Palestine, organized by a dozen pro-Palestinian groups, started on Friday and ran on Sunday. Even before the start, the event was the subject of a meticulous examination for having presented speakers with extremist views, including two former prisoners of Israel released in an agreement of Hamas.
The conference opened its doors on Friday afternoon with an elaborate ceremony, in which a speaker, after driving the crowd in songs, invited the participants to get up for “our national anthem” while a group began playing a song in a foreign language. People carrying keffiyehs have entered, holding Palestinian flags.
During a panel at the conference, another speaker, Sachin Peddada, a doctorate. Student in economics and research coordinator at Progressive International, described the United States as “bad” and has spent the country on several occasions as an “empire” motivated by greed.
