The US Capitol is on fire, sort of… A fire started in an underground tunnel connecting the Capitol buildings to a train… and sent two police officers to the hospital.
The fire broke out Thursday afternoon in the Capitol subway system and two U.S. Capitol Police officers were transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.
Officials said there were no injuries among the train’s passengers. It is unclear who was on the train.
The footage shows smoke in one of the tunnels and a parked trolley car appears to be burning near a power line.
DC Fire says firefighters responded to a small electrical fire on top of an underground vehicle… and the fire was extinguished.

It is unclear what started the fire. The tunnel has since been cleared of smoke.
The subway system connects the Capitol to the Rayburn House Office… and transports lawmakers, aides and guests between government buildings.
There is no word on the condition of the cops in the hospital.
