Former Russian president Dmitry Medvedev said Moscow did not plan to provide Iran nuclear warheads after President Donald Trump has made fun of having suggested that other countries are intervening and nuclear weapons from Iranian weapons after Iranian nuclear strikes.

Medvedev, now vice-president of the Security Council of Russia, initially declared on Sunday that Iran would continue to advance its nuclear program and would receive the aid of other nations to do so.

Although Medvedev did not specify any country, he said later on Monday that he was not talking about Russia.

“I condemn the United States strike on Iran-it has not achieved its objectives,” said Medvedev in a Monday article on X. “However, Russia does not intend to provide nuclear weapons to Iran because, unlike Israel, we are part of the nuclear non-proliferation treaty.”

“I know very well what it would imply, having supervised our nuclear forces as president,” said Medvedev. “But other countries could – and that’s what has been said.”

Medvedev’s declaration occurred after Trump called him by name in an article on Truth Social after the original Russian leader’s Sunday remarks.

“Did I hear the former president Medvedev, of Russia, throwing with casualness the ‘n word’ ‘(nuclear!), And saying that he and other countries would provide nuclear warheads to Iran? He really said that or, is it just a fruit of my imagination? If he did not say it, and, if I suppose that it is why post.

Andrea Sticker, deputy director of the Foundation for the Defense of the Non-Proliferation and Biodefense of Democracies program, posted the initial declaration of Medvedev as attempted to boast and said that it was not realistic for any country to provide such assistance to Iran.

“Medvedev’s initial complaint was probably a boastful about Russia or another country providing Iran with nuclear weapons,” Stricker said in a Monday email at Fox News Digital. “No country, including Pakistan or North Korea, would provide atomic devices in Tehran, because they would be held responsible for the United States if Iran used weapons. Moscow and Pyongyang, at least from open source information available, seem to be mainly inactive while their Iran ally takes significant blows.”

The United States has launched strikes on Saturday evening targeting the main Iranian nuclear installations, which involved more than 125 American planes, said the president of the joint staff chiefs on Sunday, General Dan Caine.

Trump announced early Tuesday that a cease-fire had entered into force between Israel and Iran, but reprimanded the two countries a few hours later following charges on both sides that the other had violated the agreement.

Trump told journalists that Israel and Iran had not followed the terms of the agreement, which, according to him, is still in force.

“I am not satisfied with them.

“We have essentially two countries that have been fighting for so long and so hard that they don’t know what they are doing,” he said.
