A democrat in the moderate chamber offers rare praise for President Donald Trump after his precision on Iran during the weekend.
“Iran is governed by a regime hostile in the United States and combined with others who are looking for the destruction of America. They sponsor terrorist organizations that have killed American troops and citizens and are a source of chaos and blood in the region,” said representative Jared Golden, D-Maine, in a statement on Monday.
“Based on what I know so far, I believe that the president was right to launch limited strikes to dissuade this result.”

He cited the International Atomic Energy Agency (AIEA), assessed that Iran was close to a nuclear weapon.

Golden said he was also looking forward to the expected briefing of the House of Representatives on the situation in Iran.

Golden won his headquarters in the 2nd district of the Maine Congress under 1% in 2024, while Trump carried the District by 10%.
