FBI director Kash Patel went to social networks on Tuesday to condemn a former coastal guard officer who was arrested for allegedly threatened to assassinate President Donald Trump, who, according to Patel, resulted, in part, from an “destructive” “destroyer” post this year by his predecessor, former director of FBI James Comey.
“It is a guy who threatened the life of President Trump using the language of the ’86 47 ‘,” said Patel about Peter Stinson, the former coastal guard who was accused of threatening to kill the president. Stinsins, which served from 1988 to 2021 in the Coast Guard – where he occupied roles of sniper and instructor of FEMA – will appear for the first time before the Federal Court.
Stinson seems to have made several graphic threats against President Donald Trump, according to court documents, including 13 references to the message “86 47” shared in an Instagram post now deleted by former director of the FBI James Comey.
Comey in May published a photo of shells arranged in the sand with the number “86 47” on Instagram. The position, which he deleted a few hours later, caused the counter couples, including Trump himself, and triggered at least two interviews with the secret services, as Comey detailed it later.

The former FBI director said in several public interviews because he had not had a dark intention in sharing the photo and his wife had associated him with his time as a catering server to signify something from the menu.
According to Merriman Webster, “86” is a slang that can mean “throwing” “” to get rid of “or” refuse service to “. Trump, of course, is the 47th president.
“I regret the distraction and the controversy that surrounds it,” said Comey about the incident on MSNBC. “But again, it is difficult to have regret about something that, even with hindsight, seems completely innocent to me.”
Comey is not currently under investigation for the post and said that neither him nor his wife, who were with him at the time, thought that it had no harmful meaning.
However, the repeated public statements of the Comeys and its compliance with the staff of the secret services did not do much to appease certain officials of the Trump administration, including Patel, who now has the old work of Comey.
“Tragically, this case was predictable,” Patel in Fox News Digital said on Tuesday concerning the alleged threats of Stinson.

“When former director Comey first succeeded in his destructive Instagram waterfall, this forced the FBI to withdraw many agents from critical portfolios, removing key staff from important initiatives protecting the American people to deal with a crushing number of Copryats following the head of Comey and by publishing threatening messages against the President of the United States,” said Patel.
“Fortunately, the police have done an excellent job by preventing a potential violent actor, and we will continue to be guaranteed,” he added.
Stinsins is a resident in northern Virginia, and although it is not clear to what extent Stinson was influenced by the Comey Instagram Post or the media coverage that resulted from it, the court documents show that many threats of stinsing have been posted well beforehand, including in the perspective of the election day and during the presidential campaign of 2024.
Stinsins, an “self-identified” member of Antifa, made at least one threat seeming to invoke the attempted assassination of July 13 against Trump while he was campaigning in Butler, Pennsylvania.
“These secret service agents moved very slowly,” said Stinson in a position at the time. “They left it in the way open to (sic) for a long time. A missed opportunity will not come back. They will teach this future agents as a failure to protect and act.”

In February, Stinson posted on his account X, “of course. This is war. The sides will be drawn. Antifa always wins at the end. Violence is intrinsically necessary.”
The last article referenced in the document was published on Bluesky on June 11, when Stinson wrote: “When he dies, the party will be Yugen.”
Comey did not immediately respond to the request for comments from Fox News Digital on the patel remarks or on any role that the Instagram publication in question may have inadvertently played in the case.
The news of Stinson’s arrest intervenes after a great federal jury charged a man from the County of San Bernardino, California Donald Trump After being elected to a second term of the White House.

“This accused is accused of having threatened the life of our president – a man who has already survived two disturbed attempts over his life,” said Prosecutor General Pam Bondi at the time.
“The Ministry of Justice takes these threats with the most severity and will pursue this crime as far as the law,” added Bondi.
