“The malignant actions of China and Russia, and even regional actors like Iran, are serious challenges for our national security interests in Africa,” said Risch. “The fight against the influence of these attackers concerns as much the United States which pursues greater partnerships with African states as to respond to the challenges put forward by countries like Russia and China in Africa.”

Risch weighed on the role of the American army on the continent, saying that “is to protect the American people, first and foremost, and this objective should remain the same in Africa. “I have pleaded so strongly for the United States to build an approach that is less based on a partner of the central government which has not delivered, and more on partners in Somalia and in the region to cause effects of effective terrorism.

“Fortunately, the policy in Africa of President Trump has already shown that he is thinking of the beaten track, as shown by the management of recent air strikes on Somalia with less action by hand and a more direct and decisive action.”

In Sudan, Russia and Iran have been affected as protagonists pushing the military agendas and the war. It is estimated that 150,000 were killed and more than 12 million people, since the civil war broke out in April 2023.

“War in Sudan must end, and the partition of the Sudanese state must be prevented. It is the worst humanitarian disaster in the world and a playground for malignant actors supporting both sides,” he said.
