Democratic senator Tim Kaine de Virginie presented a joint resolution on Monday which declares: “… Congress orders by this to the president to end the use of the armed forces of the United States for hostilities against the Islamic Republic of Iran or any part of his government or military force against Iran.

“It is not in our interest in national security to enter a war with Iran unless this war is absolutely necessary to defend the United States. I am deeply concerned that the recent climbing of hostilities between Israel and Iran could quickly attract the United States to another endless conflict,” noted Kaine, according to a press release.

“The American people have no interest in sending soldiers to fight against another war forever in the Middle East. This resolution will guarantee that if we decide to place the men and women of our country in uniform in danger, we will have a debate and will vote on the Congress.”
