Kim did not take the accident lightly, going so far as to call him a criminal act, according to KCNA.

“We have judged the accident not as a simple mistake, but as a serious and flawless criminal act which lowered the dignity and self -respect of our state in a moment, and investigated the deep cause of the accident in a complete way,” said Kim.

“War ships of a new generation must be launched one after the other in the coming years, and they will form the backbone of our maritime defense forces,” said Kim.

The ship, which Kim would have named “Kang Kon”, was transferred to the Rajin shipyard after being well installed, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The total extent of damage to the ship is unknown because it has never left the dry quay.
