Trans Rights Readathon could be finished (for the moment), but that does not mean that we should not read trans and non -binary stories all year round. Especially when so many big books have been (and will be) published after March and beyond. Let’s continue to support trans stories throughout 2025. Here are four books this year, you should consult as soon as possible!

Somadina By Akwaeke Emezi
The latest novel by National Book Award, Akwaeke Emezi, is a fantasy for young adults who follows Somadina and his twin brother Jayaike – two halves of everything. The two were endowed with magical powers, but Somadina’s powers hit fear in all her city. When her brother suddenly disappears, Somadina loses only her ally in an otherwise hostile environment. Somadina has no choice but to enter the sacred forest and to face unimaginable dangers to find her brother and bring him home.

Devils like us by Lieutenant Thompson (Bloomsbury, June 3)
This queer fantasy was released in June, just in time for the month of pride! Case knows that it is important to maintain a secret of prophetic visions and feelings of gender discomfort. Case learned that hard when Remy ended their friendship on these things. Remy is consumed by the search for his disappeared father and refuses to take into account the vision that cases had about him. Meanwhile, Finn has a secret that she must also hide – her love for Remy, who would never make the same of these feelings for fear of sin. The three are an improbable trio, but when case reveals a new vision, the three find themselves on the run … and aboard a pariah ship that is committed.

Hot girls with bullets By Benedict Nguyễn (Catapult, July 1)
Hot girls with bullets is Benedict Nguyễn’s first satirical novel. Six and Green have a lot in common; The two trans-Asiatic women have embarked on glory by playing professional male volleyball. When they started going out together, the Internet loved it. But how will six and Green manage their career, their social media accounts and their relationship?

You were not supposed to be human By Andrew Joseph White (Saga Press, September 9)
You could recognize Andrew Joseph White of his novels Ya as Hell followed with us And The Sprit runs to his teeth. But this is his first novel for adults. Appalachia was invaded by extraterrestrials and the world as we know. For Crane, it’s a new start, an opportunity to reinvent yourself. He has also just met Levi, who treats him as the man he has always known that he was. But then Levi is pregnant with the crane, and faced with the end of humanity, Crane must make a difficult choice that goes against what the rest of the world might want from him.

The most anticipated literary events of (the rest) 2025
For some, the main literary events of the year are a pleasant or interesting surprise – something to appreciate in the moment, rather than anticipating. For others, there is a great attraction in the bookmark of these occasions in advance to plan, predict and build. Me and the rest of the editorial team are in the field of reflection on what the year has in reserve for book lovers, publishers, industry experts, etc., that is why we all gathered towards the end of 2024 to trace everything, from the birthdays of the great literary, to birthdays of books that have had a deep cultural impact, to the birthday prices this year. We have marked these events as they occur on the site for what promises to be a very busy year in books, but there are still so many major exciting literary events in 2025 to anticipate.
Whether you are a creator of content focused on the book or adjacent, someone who strengthens his TBR with literary prize winners, or a book lover who appreciates being aware, I am here with a starting point to target the rest of this year of theater …
