“In the American West, a weapon touched by evil passed from hand to hand, changing the lives of everyone who owned it. Its origin is unknown, and its dark legend grew until it became known as the Dead Man’s Gun.
The actual “star” of the syndicated Wild West anthology series – first broadcast on the Showtime cable network and narrated by the familiar raspy voice of Kris Kristofferson -It was a cursed Smith & Wesson .44-caliber single-action revolver that had been forged in hell.
The episodes featured a different cast each week, and followed the gun — and its deadly consequences — as it traveled. The stories often included twist endings and supernatural overtones.
The morality tale series – filmed in British Columbia, Canada – is produced by Henry Winkler, Fonzie of Happy days Fame. He also appeared in the first episode as Leo Sunshine, an unassuming and kindly peddler who takes on the identity of the new marshal of an outlaw town after picking up the titular weapon.
