Demi LovatoThe one-night-only Los Angeles show may not stay that way for long… because TMZ has learned that her team is actively exploring larger venues and even a possible tour after overwhelming demand left thousands of fans in a frenzy.
Demi announced the Los Angeles show on her social media on Monday morning, and sources with direct knowledge tell us that more than 200,000 people flocked to the online waitlist for the October 25 concert at the Hollywood Palladium, which has only 4,000 fans. Within 20 minutes, we were told the show was sold out.
Our sources say Demi’s team immediately began discussing expansion…looking at larger venues and determining the logistics of a potential multi-city tour tied to her upcoming album, “It’s Not That Deep,” which drops on October 24.
We’re told the show was meant to be a little celebratory show… a chance for Demi to reconnect with fans and her first songs from the new album, including her fan-requested single “Kiss,” which was released last Friday. But as ticket lines snagged and fans took to social media to beg for more shows, the conversation quickly shifted from a special event to potential tour strategy.
Our sources say that the team is already reviewing options, however, nothing has been decided yet. As one source put it bluntly… “When 200,000 people are trying to buy tickets to a 4,000-capacity show, you don’t ignore that kind of demand.”
The new Demi era may have started with “It’s not that deep”… but judging by this response, it’s gotten much bigger.
We’ve reached out to Demi’s reps for comment…so far, no word back.
