Noem blasts Democrats for government shutdown in new video released to every US airport

FIRST ON FOX: Kristi Noem, DHS Secretary blasted Democrats for the ongoing government shutdown in a new video that will be released Thursday afternoon at every public airport in America.

Noem, who oversees the Transportation Security Administrationsaid “most of our TSA employees are working without pay” in a clip that will be viewed by TSA employees and travelers across the country.

“TSA’s top priority is ensuring that you have the most pleasant and efficient airport experience possible while keeping you safe,” Noem said in the clip. “However, Democrats Congress refuses to fund the federal governmentand because of this, many of our operations are impacted and most of our TSA employees are working without pay. »

“We will continue to do everything possible to avoid delays that will impact you,” Noem added. “We hope that Democrats will soon recognize the importance of open government.”

If the closure continues beyond two weeks, TSA employees will not receive their pay. Although back payments are guaranteed after a government shutdown thanks to the Fair Treatment of Government Employees Act of 2019, this does not mean employees will have to wait long periods of time to receive the payment they deserve.

However, Fox News Digital revised plan from the White House Office of Management and Budget that threatens the 2019 bill and would revoke back pay for federal employees currently on furlough as a result of the shutdown.
