Leavitt pushes the questions of the 2025 project in the middle of the government closure

The press secretary of the White House, Karoline Leavitt, was in a hurry about President Donald Trump who apparently changed his campaign position on the 2025 project in the middle of the government’s closure on Friday.

“During the campaign, President Trump said he knew nothing about the 2025 project. Now he knows it. Is that the plan to reduce the government?” Fox News senior correspondent Peter DOOCY asked Leavitt during the press briefing on Friday afternoon.

Project 2025 is a policy proposal of around a thousand pages designed by the reflection group of the Conservative Heritage Foundation during the electoral cycle of 2024.

Leavitt has made no mention of the policy proposal in his response, arguing that any decision on the dismissals of employees of the federal government or the federal programs cuts that the “president and his team and his secretaries of the cabinet finally decide”.

“And the president trusted his secretaries of the cabinet to identify where there is waste, fraud and abuse. The 2025 project has become a lightening criticism of the Democrats in the 2024 elections, because the Harris – Walz campaign said it was filled with “dangerous” policies that extended abortion to the economy.

Trump denied having experienced details on the campaign track policy plan.

“I know nothing about the 2025 project,” said Trump in July 2024. “I don’t know who is behind.

On Thursday, after the government’s closure, Trump posted on Truth Social that he had to meet the head of the Management and Budget Office (Omb), Russell Vought, describing him as the man of the “renowned 2025 project”.

Vought was one of the architects of the 2025 project policy proposal.

Leavitt’s comments are involved while Trump and the OMB develop a plan to deploy layoffs and reduce government programs in the midst of government closure.
