Bryan Griffin, president and chief executive officer of the Tourist Agency of the Sunshine State Visit Florida, rejected an offer to attend the next urban transformation summit of the World Economic Forum.
“Florida rejects the agenda of the World Economic Forum,” he said in a job On X when sharing an email he received concerning the event as well as his response to participation.
The summit, later scheduled for this month in San Francisco, “will convene main decision-makers from all sectors to explain how cities and destinations can adapt to a rapid demographic, technological and environmental change,” the email told Griffin.

Griffin, who previously was director of communications within the governor’s executive office, refused the invitation.
“I will refuse participation. The values and objectives of the World Economic Forum do not align with the state of Florida, including the efforts of the WEF to transform the company through descending government regulations and to institute dangerous programs such as digital identifiers and centralized digital currencies,” wrote Griffin.
