The Allies of Giuliani approve Cuomo on the candidate of the GOP Sliwa for the mayor of New York

Rudy Giuliani’s aid and allies threw themselves behind Andrew Cuomo instead of the Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa in the New York mayor’s race, reports.

Joe Lhota, the former deputy mayor of Giuliani and the candidate for the town hall of the 2013 GOP, confirmed the New York Post Thursday, he is firmly in the Cuomo camp.

Lhota, who was then president of the MTA of Cuomo and has since changed his affiliation from party to Democrat, has undoubtedly developed the choice.

“It is a choice between a proven manager, a socialist and a fruit loop,” said Lhota at the point of sale.

“Of course, I’m going to be with Andrew,” added Lhota.

Anthony Carbonetti, the former chief of staff of Giuliani and principal advisor to his 2008 presidential campaign, echoed the feeling of Lhota.

While praising Sliwa as a “Grand New Yorker”, Carbonetti said that mathematics are simply not there to win the race. Instead, they warned, Sliwa risks becoming a spoiler.

“I do not want a socialist in charge of a city budget of $ 116 billion,” he said, criticizing Zohran Mamdani’s proposal for buses without a price as an invitation to transform them into “mobile homeless shelters”.

Former American prosecutor Michael Mukasey, who served under George W. Bush and is a longtime ally of Giuliani, has also approved Cuomo in an editorial published by The Staten Island Advance.

“Our city should not be put at risk of irreversible damage, which would be if Mamdani is elected,” he wrote, adding that Cuomo is “the most viable alternative”.

Mayor Eric Adams has already amazed the political world by announcing that he will not ask for re -election. President Donald Trump also publicly rejected Sliwa’s chances.

“Listen, I am a republican, but Curtis is not exactly prime hours,” said Trump on Fox & Friends in September.

“Joe Lhota has been a democrat since 2016. He has worked for Andrew Cuomo. Big Deal,” said Sliwa advisor Rob Cole.

Rudy Giuliani himself, now 81 years old and still a must in the GOP policy, has not yet approved.

The survey shows Mamdani with about 20 points ahead, but less than 50% and leaving room for an upheaval if Cuomo can consolidate republican and independent voters.
