Watch: Legislation reveals how an illegal foreigner signed up to vote in the blue state

After the illegal foreigner Ian Andre Roberts was discovered that he was registered to vote in Maryland, the delegate of the Republican State Lauren Arikan, member of Maryland Freedom Caucus, explained how she believed that it happened.

Arikan explained that Maryland allows illegal foreigners to obtain driver’s licenses, making the state a “hot spot” for people who seek to “legitimize their presence” in the United States

“We grant driver licenses to people who are illegally here. The Caucus Freedom still opposes it, but it is the policy of the state of Maryland. And, therefore, it is very easy for someone to apply and register to vote, even if they should not,” she said.

Maryland grants illegal foreigners living in the State what is called “licenses and identity cards of non -compliant driver” which, despite being valid in the state, are not in accordance with the federal government.

By obtaining these licenses through the Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA), Arikan said that any individual, even illegal foreigners, can check a box to register to vote.

Instead of having established processes to verify American citizenship and voting admissibility, Arikan said that the state is based on registrants to attest that they are eligible. The result, she said, is that someone like Roberts “could simply attest that he was eligible to vote in the United States, and the state of Maryland would allow him to register when he went to obtain a driving license.”

“He would not really have to provide another proof that he is legal other than he would provide a local address,” she said.

Roberts was arrested by Ice last week on a fugitive mandate. He worked as a superintendent of the public schools of monks, in Iowa, despite accusations of possession of illegal weapons and a final dismissal order submitted against him.

After his arrest, the Maryland Freedom caucus whistled on Roberts with an inscription of voters active in Maryland and being recorded as a democrat.

In a statement sent to Fox News Digital, Jared Demarinis, Maryland State Board of Elections Administrator, described a process similar to that described by Arikan.

He declared that although an individual “cannot commit a perjury in order to become an registered voter”, when an individual registered to vote, the electoral officials “are based on the information provided by the voter, or, in some cases, the information provided by the voter to other state agencies, for the verification of eligibility”.

Despite this, Demarinis assured that the maintenance process of the Maryland voters’ list “is a secure and verified method”.

He also noted that, according to the law of Maryland, it is not a crime to register involuntarily to vote although it is not eligible. He added that “the right to vote is a sacred right which has been extended by sacrifices of many before us” and “this office will not favor a voter based on partial or without foundation”.

With regard to the case of Roberts, Demarinis said that an examination of the information available through the Maryland Information Act “has not shown any history of voting for a person of the name Ian Andre Roberts in Maryland”.

The press release also said that, due to the Maryland law protecting personal identification information from the disclosure, SBE “cannot and cannot publicly announce whether media reports on the individual in question are or not or were not or were not a voter inscribed in Maryland”.

In response to these statements, Arikan told Fox News Digital that it was “extremely concerned” by “innuendo that a person could accidentally register to vote as a Democrat in the state of Maryland”.

“It is not my experience with the MVA system, which requires a perjury sentence if you are eligible and then asks you with which party you would like to register,” she said.

Vote

“It is not accidental. Someone has readily seized this information, whether Mr. Roberts himself or an MVA employee, we must know,” she added. “If an employee records people to vote illegally, this is another problem.

“They have been crying for years that it is impossible, that they are at the top of the voters’ shutters, that people who are illegally cannot register to vote. They do not. They do not vote. It is not possible. And now, it is out that it is entirely possible. And, indeed, it happens,” said Arikan.

“It’s absolutely the tip of the iceberg. I think it could be huge,” she added. “And we will continue to dig until we reach the bottom of the number of people we could look at on our electoral lists that are not eligible for the United States.”

Fox News Digital contacted the office of the Democratic Governor of Maryland Wes Moore to comment but did not receive any response at the time of publication.
